Penguin Panic – Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 25, 2026 · Last updated: October 25, 2026

The short version. Penguin Panic does not ask for your real name, email address, birthday or location. It creates an anonymous game account so your Fish and cosmetics are saved. Voice chat is sent live to the other players in your room and is never recorded or stored. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use analytics or tracking tools.

1. Who we are

Penguin Panic (“the game”, “we”, “us”) is a multiplayer virtual-reality game for Meta Quest, published by IBGaming. This policy explains what information the game uses, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It applies to the game on the Meta Horizon Store, SideQuest and any PC version.

2. Information the game uses

InformationWhat it isWhyKept
Anonymous player account A random player ID created by Unity Gaming Services the first time you play, plus a 6-character “Player ID” derived from it and shown in the game menu. A session token is stored on your headset so you come back as the same player. To save your progress and purchases and to let us help you with support requests. Until you ask us to delete it.
Penguin name The name shown above your penguin. The game picks a random one (like “ZIPPY PICKLE”); you can change it. Names are checked by a word filter. So other players can see who is who, and so support can find your account. With your account.
Game profile Your Fish balance, owned and equipped cosmetics, badges, daily-reward streak, and a log of Fish earned, spent or granted. To run the in-game shop fairly and to handle refunds and support. With your account.
Purchase records For real-money purchases: the store’s purchase ID and the store user ID needed to confirm the purchase with the store (for example Meta). We never receive your card or payment details; the store handles payment. To check purchases are genuine and give you the Fish exactly once. With your account, and as required for tax/accounting records.
Voice If you allow microphone access, your voice is sent live, while you are talking, to the other players in the same game room so they can hear you. Proximity voice chat. Not stored. Voice is passed through the multiplayer servers in real time and never recorded by us.
Live game data Your penguin’s position and wing movements, your penguin name and outfit, and in-game events, shared with the other players in your room. The multiplayer service also sees your IP address to connect you. So multiplayer works. Not stored by us after the game session ends.

The game does not collect your real name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, or advertising IDs, and it contains no advertising or third-party analytics.

3. Services we use

These companies process data on our behalf only to provide the features above. Each has its own privacy policy:

5. Children and parents

Penguin Panic is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. Meta Quest accounts for younger users are subject to Meta’s parental controls, including parent approval for purchases. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the game and you want their account deleted, contact us (section 8) with their Player ID or penguin name and we will delete it.

6. Your choices and rights

7. Security and storage

Account data is stored with Unity Gaming Services, and only the server can change balances and purchases. Connections to our services are encrypted. Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep data to the minimum the game needs.

8. Contact

Questions, data requests or deletion requests: [email protected]. Please include your Player ID from the in-game menu.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be announced in the game’s store listing or update notes.
